7th Annual Heartland Storytelling Festival 2005

The 7th annual Heartland Storytelling Festival was held at Homestead National Monument of America in Beatrice, Nebraska. Three outstanding storytellers took part in a two-day storytelling event that related to the pioneer experience during the homesteading era.

Pippa White Pippa White from Lincoln, Nebraska is an original storyteller who is full of creative surprises. She is a professional actress with extensive theater and television experience, and she is able to transform herself into any number of characters as a storyteller.
Cherrie Beam-Clarke Cherrie Beam-Clarke of Fremont, Nebraska tells stories as a pioneer woman in first person. She will share about the challenges of an Irish immigrant striking out to homestead with the struggles to succeed against great odds.
Jim 'Two Crows' Wallen Jim "Two Crows" Wallen of Independence, Missouri" combines his work as a freelance historical folklorist with his ancestry as a six generation storyteller. Touring nationally, his performances span two decades and appeal to audiences of all ages. His stories encompass all aspects of pioneer life including life on the Oregon Trail and tall tales told around the campfire.
